Allied Universal Security Services, the largest security services company in North America, is currently seeking a Vice President of Safety. We are considering candidates to work out of our HQW Office in Santa Ana, CA or our HQE Office in Conshohocken, PA.

The VP of Safety will lead a team charged with developing, implementing and overseeing execution of a comprehensive enterprise safety strategy The VP of Safety will report to the SVP, Chief Safety and Risk Officer and help lead the corporate safety program.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Drive a global safety culture by effectively communicating an enhanced vision, accountability and metrics across the organization to ensure meaningful improvement in safety performance

  • Develop an understanding and leverage various internal technology platforms (examples include, but are not limited to):

  • Heliaus, a comprehensive workforce management solution with AI Technology, that is leveraged by the field for incident management

  • DOMO, Business Intelligence data analytics tools to track performance and areas of improvement

  • Telematics, vehicle safety

  • Develop safety related resource materials and conduct safety related training sessions

  • Support acquisition and integration teams on safety matters

  • Handle other requests in support of Risk Management and Safety functions

  • Advise executive team and operators on safety matters

  • Lead safety committees and participate in operational safety meetings

  • Perform incident investigations and continuously improve our incident investigation process

  • Interact with regulatory agencies at the Federal, State and Local levels

  • Perform predictive modeling for incident avoidance and claims elimination

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

The ideal candidate will possess advanced knowledge in Safety with at least 7 years of experience overseeing a National Safety Program for an industry leading company. CSP and OSHA/ CAL OSHA Training is preferred. Advanced education in a Safety related discipline is a plus along with ASSP, EHS, CPCU Certifications and oversight within Emergency Response. In addition, we seek the following:

  • Experience with Human Factors and Performance is highly desirable

  • Highly effective leader with the ability to build strong relationships internally with all levels of the organization and manage under difficult service delivery timeframes

  • Familiarity and comfort leading safety initiatives with remote employees located at client sites

  • Change agent that can identify, analyze and create opportunity for continuous improvement across the organization

  • Energetic and focused personality with a demonstrated ability to take initiative, successfully handle and prioritize multiple competing assignments and effectively manage deadlines.

  • Possess high personal integrity and have the ability to instill the same in others

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including highly effective written and oral delivery, with the ability to communicate clear direction and expectations

  • Proven track record of developing and engaging people to achieve superior results. Passionate about coaching and development

  • Understand and effectively enhance the relationship between safety and risk management pursuits

  • Positive and upbeat in a team environment – a motivator

  • Proven success in hiring the best talent and effectively managing team performance

  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately

  • Proficient in web-based applications, computer systems and programs (Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint), to effectively edit and create reports, database entries and presentation materials

  • Maintain confidentiality of all information and data
