Allied Universal has security jobs and are seeking to fill the position for a Security Operations Center Officer (SOC) . A Security Operations Center Officer is very important to the safety and security of our clients’ facilities. A Security Operations Center Officer will be a key contributor to the security operations team in the event of a crisis situation that would threaten the safe and secure business operations. This could include, but is not limited to: natural disasters, workplace violence, facility emergencies, fire and issues of serious injury or illness.

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION (Brief Overview):

Under limited supervision, a Control Center Officer is to help safeguard the personnel and property of our client from safety and security hazards and to play a role in enforcing the client's safety and security rules and regulations.

This includes, but not limited to:

· Interacting with a variety of persons including: clients, visitors, public safety officials, employees and the general public

· Enforcing client and company policies and procedures

· Badge Compliance

· Property Movement Compliance

· Respond, compile and report all information in regards to theft, alarms, accidents and other incidents that may occur

· Observe and report all unusual activity

· Report all building utility/ service issues as observed and instructed to facilities

· Notify, assist and direct emergency personnel as necessary

· Security access of authorized personnel into building including visitors and their employee sponsors, client employees and / or contractors

· Dispatch patrol to allow access to authorized personnel for secured areas

· Dispatch patrol to check and/ or secure access areas into and onto client's premises, as well as, highly sensitive locations within the buildings

· Monitor the movements and locations of all account security personnel in order to expedite service requests, emergency responses and to ensure employee safety

· Operate telephone and radio equipment

· Prepare all required written reports, including but not limited to: D3 Dispatch logs, Incident Reports, and all required logs

· Responsible for the proper operation and monitoring of all life safety, gas storage, access control and loss prevention systems and related sub-systems

· Respond to system alarms and notifies the appropriate response resources as directed by procedure

· Responsible for the proper operation and monitoring of all security telephone, paging , radio and intercom communication systems

· Maintains and operates video surveillance system and equipment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (To perform job duties)

· Must have sufficient hearing to respond to normal verbal speech, alarm signals, radio and telephone communications

· Must have sufficient visual acuity to read and understand tenant rosters, employee listings, post orders, maps, computer screens, check identification (such as company badge and drivers license) and to distinguish the faces of employees, contractors and visitors

· Must be able to stand and/or sit for up to 90% of an 8-12 hour shift (there may be times when an officer is required to work up to 12 hours straight to meet the operational needs of the Company)

· Must have a command of the English language that is easily understood

· Familiarity with D3 Dispatch, NC4, Everbridge, Ccure 9000, and other physical security related systems

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Be at least 18 years of age

  • Posses a high school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years verifiable experience

  • Possess effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with ability to deal with all levels of personnel and the general public in a professional and effective manner

  • Valid guard card/license, as required in the state for which you are applying.

  • As a condition of employment, employee must successfully complete a background investigation and a drug screen in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws

  • Driving Positions: must possess a valid Driver’s License with at least one year of driving experience, a clean driving record (no major violations within last 36 months, no more than 1 accident in last 24 months, no more than one minor moving violation in last 24 months), a minimum level of insurance as required by Company policy, and the ability to safely operate a vehicle required.

  • Monitors closed circuit television systems and alarms

  • Monitors and operates facility computers systems regularly, as assigned

  • Display exceptional customer service and communication skills

  • Have intermediate computer skills to operate innovative, wireless technology at client specific sites

  • Ability to handle crisis situations at the client site, calmly and efficiently

  • Answer phones and greets guests and employees

  • Handle security issues or emergency situations appropriately. Contact Emergency Services, such as EMT, Fire Dept., etc.

  • Participates in industry specific security/safety training programs to offer our clients the best trained officers at their sites

  • Able to:

  • Work in various environments such as cold weather, rain/snow or heat

  • Occasionally lift or carry up to 40 pounds

  • Climb stairs, ramps, or ladders occasionally during shift

  • Stand or walk on various surfaces for long periods of time
